What are Out-of-School Time Programs?
Out-of-School Time Programs provide a safe and nurturing
environment for children ages 5 and up. Out-of-School Time Programs
help improve academic performance, self-confidence, reduce juvenile
crime, while engaging children in enrichment activities during the out-of-
school time hours.

Out-of-School Time programs have become important in society, since
more than 28 million school-age children have parents who work outside
the home. For many children in neighborhoods across America, out-of-
school time programs provide a structured, nurturing, safe, supervised
place after school for fun, learning, and also builds wonderful
friendships with adults and peers.


What is the Out-of-School Time Project?
The Out-of-School Time Project involves the coordination of 14 Out-of-School Time Specialist
geographically located in Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies throughout the state of Ohio. The Out-
of-School Time Project is funded through the Ohio Department of Educaiton. You can e-mail or contact
